Line 2

This contract constitutes the latest and largest contract in a string of successes for WPSD in China.

Line 2 of the Nanjing Metro will have nineteen stations of which seventeen are underground, one station at ground level and the remaining station elevated. Each of the platforms, all a similar length of around 135 metres, will be fitted with full height platform screen doors.

The installation of the platform screen system commenced in February 2008 with the integrated commissioning beginning in July 2009. Nanjing Metro Line 2 is planned to open in October 2009.

The platform screen system will be designed especially for Line 2 of Nanjing by WPSD at their facilities in both the UK (Melksham) and in China (Guangzhou). Manufacture will be handled by the WPSD Guangzhou operation as will the installation.
