London Underground

Jubilee Line

Opened May, 1999 with expanded operation - January 2006.

History:

The 10 mile Jubilee Line Extension to Stratford was built to serve the expanding business and leisure zones springing up around Canary Wharf and North Greenwich.

Opened in May 1999, the 12 station extension includes 17 underground platforms fitted with 476 sliding doorways manufactured in aluminium, trimmed with stainless steel on the platform side and bonded to toughened glass.

Services are operated by Alstom 7-car trains which feature two double doors and two single doors per car.

WPSD railservices maintain the system, consistently achieving more than 99.99% in-service availability record.
