The Hong Kong International Airport - Automated People Mover (APM) is a driverless electric train which travels the length of the 750m concourse transporting passengers between the East Hall and West Hall.

The APM system, which includes 4-car rolling stock and ATO signalling system, was supplied by Mitsubishi.

Westinghouse Platform Screen Doors installed a 5.8m high PSD screen comprising 32 active doorways, 8 doorways on each of the 4 platforms. The system was opened in 1998 and has achieved high reliability rates with each doorway completing over half a million operations without failure.
