Whole System

The new metro serving Brescia, located some 85kms to the east of Milan, will serve some 600,000 inhabitants when it opens for service.

The Brescia Metrobus system, so-called because it combines automated metro trains with buses in an integrated suburban mass transit system will comprise 17 stations all of which are equipped with Westinghouse Platform Screen Doors systems.

The 204 Platform Screen Doors (PSD) will be installed beginning June 2009 and commissioning is due for completion by 2012.

The Brescia PSD system will be based upon the successful system currently in operation on the Copenhagen Metro.
